For a researcher creating his or her own web site, mere technical
knowledge of how to make a web page is not enough. A web site
must be well-designed and easy to navigate in order to be
taken seriously, so a researcher creating a site should be
familiar with the basic tenets of graphic web design. This
guide is intended as a brief introduction to graphic web design
for researchers who are on the verge of putting together their
own web site. Use the information presented here in combination
with the instructions for a web-authoring software to create
a professional-looking web page.

Guide is best viewed in Internet Explorer® 5.1 or later,
